What is the importance of breeds to modern poultry production? What is the importance of breeds to the hobbyists?
What changes have been made in pork to make it a more health-conscious food? How do you think nutrition and health concerns will affect the future of the swine industry?
Why are swine located where they are in the United States? Describe what is happening to the swine industry in terms of its geographical location.
What are some of the tools available to help swine producers make sound decisions about the genetics they use? What are the roles of the different breeds in the swine industry? How are synthetic lines being used in the breeding of swine?
Why is the issue of waste disposal so important to the swine industry? Will laws and regulations for swine waste disposal get tougher? Does the issue of odor differ from the issue of solid waste? If so, how?
