Do you think that the “great man” theories are valid today?
Our book describes specific theories, developed by historians, for why a certain person becomes an effective leader. The historians examined the life of a great leader to determine how they gained that respective power. They found that two distinct sources were found to correlate to a respected leader: “(1) a galvanizing experience, such as overcoming a near-fatal illness, or (2) an admirable trait, such as persistence, optimism, or intelligence, that the leader possesses to a singular degree.”
Do you agree that these two sources are valid to the “great man” theories? Do you believe that the “great man” theories are based off valid leaders?

Which type of leadership has the most impact?
The author describes multiple types of leadership that are usually seen, and some of them are:
Transformational leadership: Using higher ideals like justice, decency, and peace, inspirational political leaders can influence their followers, according to a leadership theory.
Transactional leadership: By adopting a specific behavior pattern, leaders demonstrate to followers how they might achieve their objectives. Leaders also create social contracts with followers that specify which actions will be rewarded.
Authentic leadership: a leadership approach that places emphasis on the sincerity and moral character of the leader and is typically accompanied by a life narrative
Charismatic leadership: Approach to leadership theory with numerous variations on the idea that charisma and leadership are related; in one, followers recognize charismatic traits in a leader during a crisis and accept that person as a leader; in another, specific leader behaviors help to create a charismatic aura.
Which type of leadership has the most impact on a team’s performance and why?
