General instruction: students are allowed to work in the group. The students are advised to proceed further by researching multiple areas from their prior knowledge to accomplish this project.
This project warrants information from the Marine Power Plant module.
Self-centered learning and research will be two key areas that must be developed by students during the execution of this project. In this regard, the student’s subject teacher is always available to support. The student issued textbooks, training from laboratories and simulators, handouts, internet and websites, books from Library accepts to use as resources for the research.
Saving energy and different methods to use in order to improve the energy efficiency is hot topic in the marine industry. There are different measures or method related to the operation of the ship which have capacity to improve the ship energy efficiency. This study is designed to make you familiar through self-study and mini-research with this area of shipping industry.
Learning objectives:
After completion of this assignment, the student should able to:
1-discuss different operational methods for energy saving for ship’s.
2-discuss parameters and characteristics affect the energy efficiency on the ship operation.
3- discuss the ways to improve energy efficiency and energy management for ships.
