This test asks for your response to a situation in a published case study, ‘Throwback Brewery: Performance Appraisal Decisions to Ring in the New Year.’ You will find the case study document in your virtual course pack.
Answer the two questions below by explaining and applying relevant concepts from the course. While no credit can be expected for merely restating case facts, responses should be supported by course concepts and evidence from the case. The test is open book. You may not work with other people. Any efforts to research case facts or previous analyses of this case study are prohibited. Presentation of relevant course knowledge
Analysis of the case situation against course knowledge
Proposals for action that are well supported by knowledge and aligned with the analysis

Questions
Describe the general situation of performance management in organizations, as discussed in Week 14 of the course. With this information, analyze the specific performance system proposed by Annette and Nicole and its strengths and weaknesses given the environment of Throwback Brewery and its owners’ business and cultural goals. As your action plan, what modifications do you propose to the appraisal process before it takes effect?
Despite the recommendations you made in Q1, Annette and Nicole have decided to go forward with the appraisal system exactly as presented in the case study. Identify and summarize one or more concepts from course Week 12, 13, or 15 that is especially relevant to gaining maximum acceptance and effectiveness from the new system. Analyze how the use of your chosen concept(s) can improve the prospects of a successful rollout, then create an action plan for rollout that is well supported by your analysis.
