You have been building towards your final paper for nearly the entire semester. Your final paper is a research paper that examines a group of Americans you feel have been neglected in some form or another throughout American history. Your paper must attempt to answer the following question: how is the marginalization of this group an example of the ways in which we have failed to “achieve our country”? However, you may also explore other questions and ideas of your own choosing, as long as they relate to this general idea. This is a concept introduced on the first day of class and referred to by several authors throughout the course, but you can also interpret this concept however you’d like. Just be clear what this idea means to you.
Your final paper must include at least 5 outside sources and 5 sources from the course. Please remember that these sources are supposed to be academic in nature, so something from the library would be great, but other sources may also acceptable.
