Introduction
For this assessment, you may select an organisation from any industry. Source the relevant dataset from any
database introduced in the module. This can be from ORBIS, DataStream, ONS,
Bloomberg, company annual reports ,
Statista, etc. and complete the task below.
Task:

Research a suitable topic or problem about your chosen company, organisation or
industry and create a concise report  to present your analysis
and evaluation of the topic/ problem to offer your recommendations. Your analysis
must be underpinned by a literature review to support your analysis and discussion.
Further Guidance:
Your report must cover the following section as a minimum:
Topic and Abstract – 10%:
Topic 5%: You must choose a suitable topic/ title for the research and analysis
contained in your report.
Abstract 5%: Provide a concise synopsis of the research contained in the report.
Introduction and literature review – 15%:
Provide a contextual background to the research, state the objectives of the work and
a concise literature review to set the context. You must also state any research
hypothesis here and support it with relevant literature.
Methods and materials – 20%:
Provide sufficient details about your methods to allow the work to be reproduced by
an independent researcher. Present your data, data sources and relevance to the
report. You must cite methods that are already published and justify their applicability
to your work.
Results and discussion – 25%:
Results: The results should be clear and concise. In this part, you should present the
results of (1) your descriptive statistics and describe the data, relating it to your
literature and (2) your inferential statistics .
Discussion: The discussion part should explore the significance of the results of the
work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often
appropriate. You must then synthesise the results and evaluate.

Conclusion and recommendations – 10%:
Conclude the report stating its merit and emerging insights. You should then include
recommendations emerging from the analysis.
