The student needs to find an art exhibition. This could be online or an in-person show. Choose two works of art. Write a 2-3 page paper (about 600 words). Begin the paper with a description of each work. Then, go into a comparison and contrast of the works. Finally, explain why you like them (or not). Do not go into other information surrounding the work or the artist. Do not plagiarize from any of the exhibition brochures and such.

The paper needs to mention art terms and concepts learned in class. Using such vocabulary words and art ideas is your way of showing me how you internalized some of this information. You don’t need a bibliography or works cited. Other than the above, this is an informal paper.

In this chapter, I mentioned my own views on the textbook including movies, TV, and video games, in a book about art. I felt they had no part in this discussion. My argument is that these production companies by powerful corporations possess their ultimate interest in such products at the bottom line: monetary profit. In such a landscape, I feel it is almost impossible to make work that expresses the vision of a creator, But I want to hear your ideas. Do you agree or disagree? Write at least five sentences backing up your feelings on the matter.
