Using the framework in On Liberty, assess the case of Victor Frankenstein. Ultimately, would JS Mill defend Victor Frankenstein’s right to conduct his experiment?
Note: You should look at this question from as many perspectives within Mill’s text as possible. Follow the type of “on the one hand” and “on the other hand” thinking Mill demonstrates at the end of Chapter 4 and throughout Chapter 5. Consider Victor’s experiment as a matter of liberty, as part of thought and discussion, as an “experiment in living” and part of individuality, and as an action with a potential social character.
