EDUC817-Discussion Thread: Researcher Positionality – Philosophical Assumptions
-For each discussion, submit a thread in response to the prompt provided. Your thread must contain at least six sentences per required paragraph. Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence. Each thread must adhere to current APA writing guidelines and any references included in the thread must be formatted in current APA style. Since this is a personal discussion, you are allowed to use first person perspective; however, you must maintain professional decorum in all your submissions.
-The Discussion will focus on YOUR positionality as a researcher. This week’s focus will be on your philosophical assumptions as a researcher. Thus, you will be describing who YOU are as a qualitative researcher in light of three philosophical assumptions. NOTE: Save this assignment for your future prospectus.

For your Discussion, you will be composing three well-written paragraphs. The first paragraph will explain the ontological assumption and your ontological position as a researcher. The second paragraph will explain the epistemological assumption and your epistemological position as a researcher. The third paragraph will explain the axiological assumption and your axiological assumption as a researcher. You may use scripture and citations to back up your assumptions. If you use citations, please include a reference. Your paragraphs should start with a topic sentence and be at least six sentences in length.
