Chapter 5: Results and Analysis
Good work on the draft of chapter 5. I have made comments throughout the chapter, but here is a summary of the major issues:
1. All charts and tables need a caption. Word has simplified the process. I included basic instructions in a comment. Insert captions for all charts and table
2. Beyond the general demographic information, you have not provided specific data from the survey, ie: X number of the Y respondents indicated Z. Thus, you have not provided descriptive data to support your thematic analysis.
3. You’ve identified several findings from the analysis but some of them are restating other findings. You should distill these findings. You want to highlight major findings.
4. Sections of the chapter restate your argument for the use of the RCL rather than present an analysis of the data. Also, you have several conclusions though I think you mean section summaries, but you need to name sections—see comments for further explanation.
5. You also have a fair bit of material that belongs in chapter 6.
Recommendations
1. You should organize the analysis according to your research questions. In fact, you should restate your research questions before you present any analysis of the data .
2. Present a section that addresses one of your research questions. Include in that section paragraph summaries of the data collected that address the question. Also include tables or charts for visual representation of the data.
3. After you do a section for each of the research conclusions, then you can present a summary of the data presented. Save interpretation of the data for chapter 6.
