Together with one or several partners we are selling digital service products
to airline customers. The partners are expert in the domain of data and
application developments and use the Airbus hardware infrastructure
developed for hosting of applications on board of an Aircraft; the data is
collected in a cloud on ground after transmission in flight or on ground.
What could be the business model, commercial mechanism and
contractual set-up in such partnership agreements?
1. Conduct a benchmark study on business models and contractual
framework with third party developers in the telecommunications,
automotive and other industries.
2.Provide recommendations for the aerospace industry regarding
commercial and contractual mechanism to cover the proportional cost
(development, certification, operation) of each partner in different business models.
A) Revenue Sharing
B) Royalty fees/ Licencing
The mechanism should not lead to unproportional
disadvantage of the smaller partners but ensure fair &
proportional share of income reflecting the investment.
