2. Analyses the ways in which educational policies have impacted learning (positively or negatively or both) in relation to those digital literacies and ethical innovation. (Check the AT1 Workshop module for links to some policy documents to get you started)

1. Digital Literacies Analysis

In the first section of your report you will examine a range of literature relate to digital literacies in general and your chosen ethical digital literacies in particular, demonstrating your understanding of the issue. You will use your research to answer these questions:

• Why are digital literacies seen as important?

 

• Why are your chosen ethical literacies seen as important?

• In regard to safe, responsible and ethical use, what are some of the different viewpoints on these digital literacies and what are the arguments based on?

• What is your view / position on the issue(s) and why?

Your cited literature should include scholarly sources but also other sources such as popular media, media releases, corporate websites and reports. Digital literacies are the subject of much popular discussion and debate, and it is important to tap into these debates if we want to understand the way these issues play out in the public and policy realms.

2. The role and impact of educational policy
In the second section of your report will examine a range of policy-related sources and how they have impacted on the ways digital literacy and ethical innovation are implemented in learning environments, including ones experienced by you as a student, teacher, parent or community member.

Your policy sources could include Federal and State Governments, government and independent schools, The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), professional associations, unions and peak bodies. Some policy aspects to look at include mobile use and access, internet use, ethical use of technology, safety and privacy…there are many others too.
