Compare and critically analyse an educational issue in 3 education systems, at least 2 of which must be located outside the UK.
Description
Identify a key issue in education (e.g. assessment, use of ICT, MFL policy, funding in HE, the role and involvement of parents in education, history teaching, maths education, approaches to teaching literacy, approaches to special needs education and inclusion, teacher training, the primary curriculum, student support in higher education, etc.
Pick a topic that interests you and ideally that you already have some knowledge of). You are advised to select your topic carefully. Ensure there is enough literature on your topic to develop ideas in depth, so conduct a literature search before making your decision.
You are advised to research using journal articles, recent articles from the educational press and the full range of other resources, including Eurydice and the IBE database.
By drawing on examples from at least two other countries, you will need to identify what a THIRD country (e.g. England) might learn in relation to this topic area, by justifying a set of educational recommendations (proposals for change) in light of evidence drawn from a number of sources.
You will need to apply this knowledge in your essay which will serve as a report to be submitted to an identified group of educational stakeholders/professionals (e.g. teachers, trainee teachers, local authority officials, government officials, parents, pupils, youth workers, etc.)
