Paper Overview:
1. APA formatting requires a title page, an abstract, and a reference section.Note that these do not count as part of the page requirements.
2. Summarize the article (2-3 pages): This section should provide a basic overview of what the article states. In other words, describe the article in shortened form. Use citations to capture your information.
3. Between Subjects vs. Within Subjects Design (1-2 pages):
This section should do the following:
a. Define what is meant by “between-subjects design” and “within-subjects design”.
b. If you were doing an experiment similar to what is described in the Barsicks and Bredant article, would you choose between subjects or within-subjects design?
c. Why choose one over the other? What are the pros and cons of each?
4. Hypothesis (1-2 pages): How would you state the hypothesis that they tested? In other words, what was their prediction? Define the different parts of their prediction and how it makes sense to the reader. Give your opinion about their hypothesis and how they could have made it better.
5. Variables (1-2 pages): Define the dependent variables and the independent variables in the study. What variables are being measured (dependent) and what variables are being adjusted to attempt to impact the outcome? What specific strategies did they use to control or manage the variables. Do you believe that these variables make sense? How might these variables impact the audience? In other words, is this type of study valuable for the average reader
