Disruptive/Sustaining Innovation
Introduction/Overview of Discussion Activity:
Take a deeper dive into an area presented in this unit of the course primarily through a review of the two lectures devoted to innovation and follow-up collaboration and summarization as a discussion group.
The focus of this discussion and collaboration activity is explore the idea of innovation and its various flavors.
In particular, you will consider the outsized role of technology and its outsized impact on innovation in many sectors of the global economy.

Instructions for Activity:
Working within your discussion group, each group member will identify and share one example of a disruptive innovation (in a separate post) and one example of a sustaining innovation (in a separate post). Each example should have a strong reliance on IT.
These shared ideas will be posted within the discussion area. You should use the full week leading up to the due-date for this assignment to post ideas and promote dialog within the discussion area.
For each of the identified innovations address the following:
Describe the innovation.
Provide a justification as to why you considered each example a disruptive or a sustaining innovation.
Describe the source of the innovation, e.g., forced (push) innovation, customer-generated (pull) innovation, accidental innovation, etc.
How did each innovation enter the market?
How has each innovation evolved since entering the market?
