(1) Design Scenario
Select 2 different celebrities or influencers for this activity. Take screen shots of them in their surrounding environments. Show 3 different screen shots for each celebrity or influencer. Therefore, there will be 6 images.
Describe the principles and elements of design that can be seen in each image. Is there a historical style or design influence that is evident? Describe the style or design influence. Write 2-3 sentences for each image.
(2) Design Scenario
Research Thomas Heatherwick’s website under projects. http://www.heatherwick.com/ (Links to an external site.) Click on his name, then click on projects on the left. Investigate the scope of 3 different projects. Summarize the materials that inspired the project designs.
Based on Heatherwick’s creative process, select a material in your environment to inspire a product: chair, light fixture, or accessory. Photograph the material, show 6 different photos from different angles of the material. Develop 2 quick sketches with annotations of the product.
Write a brief paragraph about the design.

This is a written document with inserted text and images. 1-2 pages. This is also a presentation to a small group of peers.
