To participate in this week’s discussion, you will need to interview a person from a different generation than you about their use of and attitudes toward technology. This person could be younger than you or older than you, but I encourage you to find someone far enough from you in age that their experience with technology differs from your own. Ask them about which technologies they use most, which technologies they like and dislike, and how likely they are to adopt new technologies as they are developed. Do they use CTs for task or relational purposes? Do they have a positive or negative attitude toward technology?
In your original discussion post, please share a little about who you interviewed and what you learned about their use of and attitudes toward technology. Then, answer any or all of the following questions:
Which of Horrigan’s (2007) groups of tech users does this person best fit within? Why? give examples.
Apply the technology acceptance model (TAM) from the Unit 6 lecture video to the person’s attitudes toward adopting new communication technologies as they are developed.
